Now this is exciting! - Marisa and I have been featured in the Fall 2007 edition of the Bronx High School of Science alumni newsletter( more on Science on wikipedia ) - (if any of you who are reading this are Science alums, you can reconnect with the school within a few seconds). Thanks to Science again for the support (and the great education and opportunities)

Brother/Sister Science Alums Offer New Approach To Dentistry Using Digital Imaging Technology
David Birnbaum '92 and his sister, Marisa Birnbaum '98 are working to help reduce the time you spend in your dentist’s office. If you’ve ever needed a crown, you know that the process usually requires multiple visits to the dentist and it can take weeks to complete. There is now technology available that reduces this two visit, weeks-long process to one visit and one hour. Until now, this technology has been out of reach to most dentists and patients because of high cost and complexity. The brother/sister team founded MobileTek Labs to unlock the potential of the technology and make it accessible to more patients.
MobileTek Labs’ mobile dental lab units bring CAD/CAM technology right to your dentist’s doorstep. A certified technician designs and fabricates crowns in the mobile unit while you wait.
This ‘immediate’ approach is powered by digital imaging, design and automated engineering technology that David and Marisa first encountered in their Science days. Both worked with CAD (Computer Aided Design) software in classes with Mr Mendoza and Mr Puusep. The design and operation of the mobile units draws on their experience in STL and Mr Diamente’s Robotics class.
labs are currently operating in the Bronx and Westchester
